Grandma Wegmann's Potato Salad

3/4 c. mayonnaise
1/4 c. s. cream
4 T. red wine vinegar
2 T. water
1 T. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
10 medium sized red potatoes
onions & celery
Steam potatoes until soft. Meanwhile combine and blend all sauce ingredients in blender. Dice celery and chop onions until you have one cup of each. Peel potatoes while warm. Alternate layers of sliced potatoes with celery & onions and sauce. Mix thoroughly and chill. Makes enough for 6.
